Show me your heater tubing around the ac unit...

i need to replace my heater tubing on my 911sc, the only problem is i cant see how they fit, the old one if pretty smashed up and it seems like its from the ac unit in the engine bay. i wanted to see how they are supposed to go, specifically the one that goes over the fan shroud.

thanks!

Are you talking about the tube that goes from the heater blower to the right hand side of the car. If so I recently replaced mine. Here is a pic from another thread that I posted.

Ventilation Ducting

This one goes down an opening on the right hand side and then fits onto the heat exchanger. The one on the left goes from the heater blower to a connection on the inside of the engine bay. Below the engine there is another small piece of tubing required to connect to the heat exchanger.

Hope this helps.

Forgot to add that if you still have the AC there then the tube is 60mm from the heater blower and needs to reduce to 50mm and pass underneath the AC. It then needs to enlarge back out to 60 mm to fit onto the heat exchanger. The OEM tubes have reducers and enlargers to allow for this.

Its some sort of composite plastic with a wire rib in it. Its rated to 120 deg C so no problem in the engine bay. Much Much Much cheaper than having to buy the Porsche tubing. Plus you can use it for all the fresh air connections in the trunk area and up from the footwell into the trunk.

I am in Australia, so thats not an option for you. Any place that sells ducting or tubing should have something similar. I sure you will be able to get something over in the US. You guys have everything over there.

Here's a pic of what I ended up doing. Obviously, the AC compressor isn't on at the moment, but I just bolted it back on and the hose runs right behind it.

I got my hose from www.aircraftspruce.com. I can't recall if it was SCEET or SCAT. You'll want to look at the different temps its rated at and colors that it comes in. I believe it comes in black or orange. Runs roughtly $5/ft which is still much cheaper than ordering the original Porsche parts.
