Unhappy Help my cab is broken!

My wife and I got back from a trip last saturday and when I went to put the top up it bound on something on the left side. So I took out the wrnech that came with the car and loosened the two bolts that fasten the top to the gear, pulled it up manually, retightened the bolts and then worked the rocker switch to lock the top in place. I put the top down on it today and it seemed to operate fine until it was fully down - that's when I heard a clunk clunk clunk clunk. I stopped immediatly. I put the boot on and drove home. When I tried to put the top back up the cab motor just spun as if there were no teeth on the gears. So I loosened the two bolts as I did before and had my wife help put the top up manually. However the left side seems to be binding on something again. I had to completely remove the bolts to seperate the top from the gears and, while there are teeth some of them do look warn. I was finally able to get the top up.

Any advice? Anyone know of any books on how to maintain/adjust a cab top, or can someone instruct me on how to align/adjust it? Or is this something best left to the pros?

Thanks!

You've got mail.

Your transmissions are out of alignment and you have probably spun one of the drive cables out.
