If I compare the rear wheels of my 1974 911 (non S) then one sticks out more than the other (in respect to the bodywork of the car) The guy at the shop told me that this is common. Does anyone know how much this offset is on a standard 911? I want to compensate for this with a spacer on the less protruding side. Can I do this without negatively affecting the car's characteristics?
Do I need a spacer on the front as well or is the offset only in the rear? And does anyone know why the strange asymmetry is there in the first place? Thanks, Geronimo |

Can't help you with the spacer, but I can confirm the asymmetry of the 911. And I'll bet the wheel that sticks out is the left?!

Yes, check the offset on both wheels. If the PO bent a wheel and got a replacement, it might not match 'zackly.
Same size tires? |
