My car is cursed

It's been hit 3 times in this spot. Just happened today. This was a new fender I put on last fall.

Dude, you park on the street in Cambridge. That is one of te worst places for people who don't give a crap about other people's cars. I am surprised it has only happened 3 times.

Sorry to see it, as it infuriates me everytime it happens to me. I seem to attach those jerks in parking lots, since I can park in a driveway at home.

3 times in three years

once at the mall where I was parked far away from anyone. definitely kids

once in NY, that's a given

once today, definitely one of the vans restoring the houses around here.

This is just something I don't need right now, although I don't suppose there's really a good time.

some car are, I bought a 1995 M3 Summer of last year, and since I bought it

I took out the front end on a chunk of metal on the road
had a 18 wheeler hit the car broad side
had my trailer pop off my hitch and damage my tailgate
had my wife spin out our 1988 911 into a fence and poped the tires off the rim
had the front glass on the truck break
had the motor in a shared race car blow
had one of the trucks run out of diesel ($300 to prime the pump)

All in six months, since I bought the M3.....cursed?

As a fellow 84 Guards Red Targa owner, my suggestion would be to switch to the old lights and that should fix your problem of people breaking that light/cover because the light it set back under the ring. Are people vandalizing the car or is it the result of people backing into your car?

Better get that thing fixed by the end of the month when I show up at your door wanting to drive it!

Got the glass today, but make sure your expectations are low!

This damage did little to devalue the car.

Shaun,

As they say - 3 times is a charm. Hopefully this is the last time this will happen!

Where are you parking? I'm the guy who parks a mile away if I park my Porsche anywhere.

F$*#)(@#%&^* A$%&%%()!_+ People!

Hope all is well otherwise!

Thank you,
Jason

Charles, the track car is sleeping.

Jason, it's all random, and I live in the only part of Cambridge where's a ton of parking, so there's no need for this sort of thing. I did catch a .5 second glimpse of a Comcast cable truck with red on the bumper corner yesterday but it was gone as soon as I got downstairs.

I'm looking into installing some type of proximity alarm system. the bumper has been backed over several times, just scuffs that polish out.

Any thoughts?

Shaun,
Maybe you should put a target on it.
How about some pix of that GT3 of yours.

I'd get one of those alarm pagers. The range is somewhat limited and the antenna has a serious effect on the pager's range. Building construction also affects range. If i have to park in "nervous" places I'll try to remain close to a window. I would think a satellite pager is available ?

Mike, no real pics, just the build process URLs below. The car is currently in storage. I know you can imagine that there's not much time to work on it, let alone race with G9Girl growing as it is (sent you an email last night). This car was once the love of my life, the company has definitely taken its place. Maybe this winter I'll finish it up.

I recently stole the 3.2 out of it for my Targa, 241K miles on it and the motor while good running, needed a rebuild and it just seemed smart to put a "fresh" one in with 103K. Noticeable difference.
