I've Been Blessed
Had a great day ripping along with the top down in beautiful weather, wearing my new LeMans jacket (thanks rdane and shuie), and listening to 1st gear on the 911 Ultimate Music CD. Then I get home, come in and see my newly printed McQueen Drives Porsche Poster just inside my front door. How can it get any better? It does.
I realized I've gone over 900 miles without adding a drop of oil. When I first got the car I was only getting 500 miles before adding a a quart. I was sure I was about to need a rebuild. I guess the PO just put in too light an oil. Also, shifting the 915 is butter smooth. When I bought the car it was "notchy" at best. The Swepco, Seine Gateshift, and Wevo coupler helped. But it just keeps getting smoother and smoother. I think the Swepco takes a while to work it's magic. And so my friends, I know it can't last. But for right now, life is soooo sweeet! With all the posts of problems, I thought this might brighten things up.

Not to be a pain, but could tell me exactly what parts you replaced in the linkage? My 915 is pretty clunky. Anything to smooth it out would be welcome.

I replaced the bushings in the main shift assembly when I installed a Seine Shift gate. I replaced the rear tunnel shift connector with the WEVO unit. I also put in Swepco. I adjusted the shift connector several times- it takes patience. What is interesting is that is was better at first, but not perfect. It has improved over time so that now it is very smooth. Or maybe I've just become a better driver....
