One Lap of America Update Starts tomorrow w/pics

Friends,
As some of you know, my brother Sam and I are running the One Lap of America (www.onelapofamerica.com) in a 1979 930 in the vintage foreign class.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some pictures of the freshly decaled car and thank the sponsors who helped make this possible. So thank you Chuck Moreland at Elephant Racing for the phenomenal suspension, David Bouzaglau at TRE Motorsports for the excellent quality lightweight bumper and hours of tuning advice, Rich Heatherton at Autobahn Performance for setting up the suspension and letting me run around the shop like I owned the place, Yarrow Thorne for the dyno time and helping me tune, and Mark Link for the indestructible Frozen Rotors.

I will be sending these guys daily updates with pictures from the road, I know that at least Autobahn Performance (www.autobahnperformance.com/motorsports.htm) will be posting the adventure. I am looking forward to meeting the Pelicans that said they were coming out to the track events.
Thanks for the support,
Dave

Good luck to you guys!

OneLap sounds like quite an adventure, I hope to be out there one day. My little bro will be graduating from college soon and we can combine our incomes!

Very cool and very envious. Great assortment of cars entered. Corvair The Daytona Cobra in the background looks like the South African built one that was featured in Road & Track earlier this year. Corvair up on the trailer is a nice touch.

Sounds like a great adventure! God speed to you! I just looked at the schedule and it says you will be at Raceway Park here in Indy today. Perhaps I'll see you there!

Looks awesome. As long as the weather holds out I'll see you Friday at Nelson ledges. Good luck.

Are the track events open to spectator viewing ? I went to the IRP web site and there was no mention of tomorrows events .

I see you'll be at BeaveRun tomorrow, which is about 30 minutes from my home. I'll try to catch it, weather permitting. Best of Luck.

Thanks for the support guys. To answer your question Jim spectators are welcome at all the venues this year. You can find the detailed schedule at www.onelapofamerica.com click on 2005 schedule.

Dean, I have indeed put the Bel Metric trauma behind me.

89911 the weather should be great in the morning, see you tomorrow

125shifter, I am really hoping this year it will be just gas and oil. That said, how close are you to a Fed-Ex drop box?

Rexav8r we are going to Nelson Ledges towards the end of the week

Right now Sam and I are cruising along on I71 N. If you see us out there be sure to wave,
Dave

Updated Photo's

I had the pleasure to meet David and his brother today. Nice guys. I didn't realize what is involved with this race. They are running today, driving 3 1/2 hours and running this evening and then driving all night to run again in New Hampshire (10hrs?). On top of that, these cars are being running flat out on the track, so concentration has got to be difficult. Among the pictures, Dave and his brother Sam, Dave and Me, His Car/hotel for the next week, Brock Yates and Tony Swain (Brock in Drving the Bentley), Tony S in in the Ford Mustang, Other 911's, My car, and other assorted sites.

(David want to thank TRE for the superb fit of his rear bumper!)

More Photo's

(My car felt naked without 50 decals affixed to it!)

Try to stop by if David or Sam are in your area and say hello. Bring a home cooked meal if you can. A week eating on the road can be tiring.
