Exclamation plans for a four door porsche

i was at the book store looking through the magazine section and a little image of a car in the top right corner of MPH magazine caught my eye.
i guess there are planes to make a four door porsche in 2008 it looks a bit like the 911 only with four doors it has a V8 like the 928 450 hp thats all i really read. i just glanced through it i could not find a very good picture of it but this will give you an idea its at the top right corner of the red magazine please right back with your thoughts on it

I'll take one My girlfriend has always managed to argue against the 911 based on the lack of 4 doors, now I have finally got the ability to have two of them, and she will have to agree

Posing that question on the early 911 board is akin to throwing a cat into a pound full of dogs. Many of us, who frequent this cyberspace, are hopelessly stuck in the late 60s - early 70s. The leaders and engineers at Porsche ag have moved on to a more modern era. They are less concerned with building an image than they used to be 40 years ago. Now their wish is to sell very capable automobiles at a good profit.
Having said that, it seems a logical move to take that nice twin turbo water-pumper V8 and put it in a place where four people can enjoy it.

I think he was being tongue-in-cheek, not criticizing you. We are interested, thanks for posting it.

I live in Davis too. Are you going to the UC? I think there are about 6 911s in Davis - what kind of car do you drive?

Here we go again.

"It's not a proper Porsche"

"After the Cayenne abomination I no longer care"

"Porsche has diluted the brand, now milking the name"

Rant over.

Modern Porsches do nothing for me. You like them, you buy them. I happen to prefer a sportscar.

Post scriptum.

The ones I consider passable are out of my price range (GT2, GT3, Turbo)

I can barely tell in that photo, but from that angle it looks a bit like the new mercedes that MB is calling a 4-door coupe. anyway the MB is a real looker. I have less of an issue with Porsche competing for the high end sedan market than for the truck market. I wonder what dumb name they'll think up for it?

If I was to buy something like that I'd rather buy Merc's new CL55 AMG.

With you on that Milu... if it isn't an air-cooled flat 6 I don't consider it a true Porsche. They may be good cars, but not the pure Porsche.

I think we already had this debate over 2 months ago... If you really want to stir things up, post about electric cars on the 944 board...

I've seen the computer drawing of this car with the suicide doors. If Posche is actually thinking of building a car with suicide doors I will lose all respect for the current regime. I have a truck with these little half rear suicide doors and it's a terrible design flaw.
