2009 Porsche Panamera

Another in the long line of rumored sedans. At least it's got a race-inspired name, unlike Cayman and Cayenne!

Front end looks great. A pillor and back looks great. Put 'em together and to me it looks out of sinc IMHO. Looks like an attempt at a Maserati type 4 door although that I am used to and like. I guess I could used to this also.

Looks ok to me...... I'm guessing that Porsche will do a great job on this, as they've done on the Cayenne (whether you like it or not). I'm wondering where it will be priced? $120K?

Report: Porsche's first 4-door sedan Panamera will hit the road in 2009 with a six-figure price tag. May 11, 2005: 8:25 AM EDT NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Porsche's first four-door sedan will go on sale some time in 2009 with a sticker price between $125,000 and $175,000, according to a report published on Inside Line, an auto enthusiast Website produced by Edmunds.com. A Porsche spokesman contacted by CNN/Money called the report "speculation." There have been previous media reports that Porsche was working on such a car and Porsche has denied those reports as well. A spokeswoman for Edmunds.com told CNN/Money the information came from "a reliable source at Porsche." According to Inside Line, the sedan, known as the Panamera, will have a taller roof than Porsche's sports cars. The back end will be higher to hold a family's luggage for a long trip, the report said. Buyers will get a choice of rear- or all-wheel-drive, according to the report. The car will incorporate styling elements of Porsche Cayenne SUV and the Carrera GT sports car, Inside Line said. The car will have a more tapered shape than the Cayenne, according to the report. Edmunds.com is a partner providing content and tools for CNN/Money Autos.

I'm not naturally a big fan of larger cars, even sporty ones..................but Porsche did a nice job this time. On a side note, I saw a convertible Carrera S - 2005 in a dealer parking lot last night - wow, it's awesome. I think I left a drool puddle.

It better have some big performance and technology to keep up in that kind of market and at that price. M5, E55, etc. This week's AutoWeek has the new M6 on the cover. 507hp, 7 speed sequential transmission, clear coated carbon fiber roof (!!), etc. for $95K.
