1989 Speedometer not working?

1989 911 - Speedometer not working at all

I took my car out last Sunday and the speedometer is not working at all. It worked fine the last time I drove it a few weeks ago. When I turn the key on, the needle just barely moves a hair and then stays at 0 MPH.

Any ideas? Is the sensor somewhere on the trans? Aside from a loose connection, is there anything I should check? How do I diagnose the sensor, or should I just buy an new one and try it out?

Thanks!

Stephen

If the car was park for a long period, voltage drop could cause the speedometer acting up strange, I have the same problem and wasted the money on speedo sender until I found out the voltage issue, try to drive your car for at least 30 miles for full charge and see if the problem may fix by itself

Good luck
