I previously posted these question in my introduction thread (An introduction...), but thought the people who might actually have some knowledge to share may not read it.
Recently did a top end rebuild and am still working out a couple kinks on the CIS and power assist for the brakes. I was hoping someone may be able to help me with a couple questions. Off the bottom of the decel valve, the hose comes off and splits to the right and left. I don't know where the hose to the right (going out toward the drivers side goes? I cannot seem to locate any open nipple/port that it needs to connect to. Does anyone have a suggestion or can take a quick look (maybe photos) at their 78/79 SC to see what this hooks to? I've searched and looked at the diagrams, but they don't seem to show the split. Second, can't seem to locate the vacuum hose for the assist for the brakes. I have trace in down the tunnel from the front and to the firewall, but can seem to locate where it is in the engine bay. So, for the time being I don't have power assist with the brakes. I think I know where it plugs into, but can't seem to locate the hose out the firewall. I've searched with no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated! T. |

Many thanks Jim! I'll take a look at the car this evening with the diagram in hand to try to put your advice to use. If not, I'll shoot you back a note with some photos.
Thanks! T.

Jim W is the Master!
After weeks of staring at a couple of errant hoses on my SC following my top end rebuild, I traded a few emails offline with Jim. I must say, Jim and folks like him are what make this forum so great. He was willing to take the time to help me eliminate some potential issues and I was able to figure out exactly where everything went. Now, the car is running beautifully.
Thanks Jim! ![]()
