hand throttle

Does anyone by any chance have actual photos of how the hand throttle hooks up? Mine's come disconnected and I'm trying to hook it up without disconnecting the entire parking brake assembly - is that even possible? I've seen the PET diagram of the area, which shows the part, but not how it connects to the line that runs to the gas pedal. I can see and feel the line through the slot where the throttle lever moves, and I can see the white plastic piece attached to the lever, but I can't get the two to "mate".

I'll remove the whole parking brake if I need to, but I'm trying to explore the simpler options, first.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

This is a bit tricky without removing the parking brake, but can be done. There is a small access hole on top of the tunnel on the driver's side. Probably where you have been looking. The lower part of the plastic bit that connects to the lever has a slot cut in the side of it so you have to swing that up parallel to the throttle rod. That slot is thinner at the outside edge so it snaps over the rod, and takes some force. It should snap over the rod just behind the aluminum stop that is attached to the throttle rod. I have done it a few times just going through that little hole using one screwdriver to the driver’s side of the throttle rod to support it, and one “L” shaped tool to lift the plastic arm into place then push the two together. Push the throttle rod one way and the plastic part the other way. If the slot is lined up it should snap into place.
