Alternators question

i need to replace the alternator of my 911S '74.

I have an alternator coming out of a 911S '76 which should be compatible.

When I tried to installed i found that there is one difference. on the '74 there is only one flat pin which connects to the alternators brushes, but on the '76 there are two.

Anyone can help on this what should i do? ignore one? Which? or ???

Thanks in advance

Ok if its a marchel in the 74 and the 76 then there should be
the following

blue wires,Forget what the abreviation is for where the blue bolts on
Brown d-
red d+
black Plug in DF

If this is not what you have then there is an issue the df is where the brush pack is. Now this is only from memory it has been 8 months since I had mine out and I forget exactly how its suppose to be.. We need to know what brand alt you have

On the 74 I have a Motorolla (this is the one with the damage brushes, which i plan to replace with the 76), on the 76 there is no visible brand.

My problem is with the black df plug. On the '74 there is only 1 flat plug connector and on the '76 there are 2. The other wire are ok and connected on the same place.

Mario,

Since you don't know the brand, how about posting a nice clear picture. From that, maybe we can tell the brand.

I had my Marchal out last week and wrote down the wiring on a piece of paper.
