What is this gizmo?
Found this in the bottom of the bonnet of my 1980 911 SC, in a sealed plastic bag, within what appeared to be a Porsche tire changing (don't get your hands dirty) kit.
As the photo shows - one end has a blunt blade perhaps like a screw driver blade, and the other end has a captive stud with a knurled handle. Any ideas on what it is and what it does, where? (No part number was on the bag, or is on the item) thanks! Jim

Geeze! How old is your P-car??? It looks like the handle you'd insert to crank-start your engine!

Ah.. but no-one has explained the little flat-blade screw driver dingus on the other end.

I bet it IS a sunroof crank, but the blade is adual function tool, and will also prise the cover of the sunroof motor..
But what do I know...I own a full roof coupe! I bet the owners manual tells all about it...

You're correct about the owner's manual (duh - I shoulda looked at it better).
But, the screw driver end is to remove the 'place holding screw', that the threaded end of the tool engages.
