Observation Hard Oil Line under engine: 84 3.2 v. 87 3.2 differs

Observation Hard Oil Line under engine: 84 3.2 v. 87 3.2 differs. I am installing my "spare" 3.2 engine into my '87 Carerra. I am having all the oil lines (right quarter panel[yes it is difficult to get them out at home])fabricated by Amazon Hose.

While removing the stock exhaust (I prefer my SSI for the street) on my "spare engine ('84 3.2), I noticed the hard oil line under the engine differs. I haven't paid too much attention to this difference. Why do the oil lines differ?

Thank you.

Regards,

Wouldn't the oil lines have been changed when SSI's were put on the car...I am assuming that the SSI's caused you to backdate the exhaust...

Spare engine ('84) has a different hard line under the engine. I am going to go with SSI and the oil line on the original ('87) engine.

Yes a "spare engine" is a good thing. I call it a necessity these days . I am now prepared to begin the rebuild of my original engine. The "spare" gives me the extra confidence (I need [since it is my first Porsche rebuild I'd be doing myself) to complete the rebuild on my original engine myself and at a calculated pace. I have the original back from the machine shop and am planning it all out.

Regards,

SSI (compared to original) requires a different hard oil line under the engine.
