Custom Oil Lines (w/ Picture)
I had found this picture on this site some time again but I cannot for the life of me find the original post.
I am looking to recreate a set of oil lines in a similar fashion but with longer braided lines and different fittings on the ends. I need to know how the braided lines were crimped on to the hard lines, where this was done, and what size AN line was utilized? Any details on this would be much appreciated. Thanks, Britain

The crimping is called "swaged". Most any hydraulics shop or even radiator shops (they build high pressure lines for tranny coolers or oil coolers) have a swaging tool.
There is a hydraulics shop in San Jose that I used one time. They were off 101 om an industrial shop. They were around forever and in an industrial park. They will find your connections, sell and build your lines while you wait. Quite amazing! I believe they can swage ends onto stainless braided lines like the ones shown. If you have the hard lines, bring them down there and they should be able to put them together. Oil lines are probably either -12 or -16. I can't remember the name, but I brought old Mercedes power steering lines down there. After 30 minutes I had new ones and only cost $60 or so for two. I'm sure if you look in the yellow pages, you'll find them or an alternative. Just call and ask and they'll build the lines while you wait.

Yup - Royal Brass sounds 100% right. I was blown away. They had tons of customers going in and out with 8 to 10 customer support techs designing and building custom hoses. They had every conceivable type of connection, fitting, hose, etc, etc. Prices were good for one off stuff, too.
