Calling All 75/76 RSR Experts - Need Help With Car
OK guys, I have what may sound like a dumb question for all you RSR experts. I have a '76 built by PO as an RSR "clone" sort of. It has a slightly hopped up 3.0L from an SC and is fitted as a full out track car (except is could go on a little diet). I have considered transforming this car into a more accurate replica of a mid 70's RSR and I need help with what the build specs were on these cars.
My informational need can start with the following, but definitely not limited to this, wheel size/type, transmission type, injection type, engine specs, ect, ect. Here are a couple of photos, so go ahead and deconstruct. What would be a good reference for this information? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for all your help! ![]()

Here is some inspiration. the great thing is that you don't have to do much to get the car more period correct. just remove the rockers, aero mirrors and replace the tail with an IROC whaletail and your done. I think the wheels look good painted black. a set of 16" or 17" fuch custom wheels 9.5" wide front, 11" rear would really do the job.

A side note. If your going to track the car get rid of the thick roll bar padding and replace it with the FIA dense padding. The thick padding is too soft and not very good. Put the padding anywhere some part of your body can contact the roll bar.

Thanks for the comments. I know it is not the real thing, but I thought it was close. I planned on removing the goofy looking rockers and changing the mirrors. I do track the car, so was going to change that padding. I really hate that thick stuff - it looks like pipe insulation at the hardware store. I also have toyed with the idea of the larger Fuchs wheels as I think they look really *****in' on RSR cars. Does anyone out there have period pics showing interior and exterior? Also, I am still looking for engine/transmission/suspension specs on that vintage car. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you.

Your car will be a replica of a Carrera 74 RS (or IROC). The RSR were wider (11' front and 13' rear)
Here is a pic of an RSR. ![]() ![]() The RS and RSR had coilover suspensions, 915 transmission and 3.0L engines (330hp at 8,000rpm). Thanks guys. OK, not RSR, but RS (IROC) - thanks for the clarification. What version of MFI did they use? That isn't from the '73 S/RS model is it?
