84 Carrera - No Start Problem
No drivablilty problem. Drove car, parked it, went back a couple of hours later, the car would not start. Fuel pump did not run when you turned the key on. No fire at plugs. 12 volts to the coil. DME relay clicked. Took the top off the relay. One set of contacts was closed, one was open. Physically closed the open contacts. Starter turns the engine over but it still will not run. Checked the resistance on the temp sensor. Within range of ambient temperature. Checked ground on intake runner. Where do I look next? Any ideas will be appreciated.

When you say no fire at plugs, you mean no spark?
Could you hear fuel pump running when you closed the DME relay? If both are yes, I'd suspect crank position sensor. DME needs to sense engine rotation for fuel pump to run (unless you bypass the DME relay), and needs crank info to fire coil. Closing the contacts and no fuel pump would lead me to suspect either a bad relay where the contacts are soldered to the base, or a bad pump, but wouldn't explain no spark.

Did you try jumping the fuel pump at the fuse panel in the front? If so does it run? Did you swap the DME relay?
