Carpentry? They are just awesome. Do we have any woodworkers out here? Try their hand tools. I have been buying their hand tools since my college years, I think they are better then the europeans.

This thread may have started out as a joke, but it has illustrated our preset beliefs that a product made in a certain place is made of better stuff and put together better than the same product made in anther country, state, province, city, etc. Car manufacturers have learned long ago that they cannot make the entire car within their organization. They set the standards, budget, and determine the sub-manufacturers. I honestly don't care what countries of origin are stamped on the thousands of parts that make up my Porsche. I do care that Porsche has taken the time and money to deliver a car to my expectations. This stuff about Japan making inferior products is so old it doesn't even stick. Dinan and BBS have forged wheels made in Japan just to name two high profile products. The day that a single manufacturer makes everything in the cars is long gone and we're all enjoying better cars for it.

I'm learning Mandarin...go with the flow.

With every good,,, there is bad.

Inhale - Exhale
Life - Death
Stop - Go

Ying - Yang

After reading this post, I've found a renewed admiration for my old hand made 84 3.2.

When the yin hits the yang it 'splodes and the jing pushes the piston down (unlike those new-fangled, non-handmade ones).

Good for you Nostatic. Why Mandarin? It is a difficult language to learn. Do you do much business with the Chinese? It will be very useful in business within the next 10-15 years. We are having our 1st kid and would like him/her to learn a 2nd language. We think it should be Mandarin. I try to crash a class at my local college a few years back before I went on a crazy trip to China. Too many people and could'nt get in.

How far along are you? Can you order your food or ask for a date in Chinese?

Jeff

well, its easier than Cantonese. Since I'm in the business of new media and communications and China has a couple billion people, I figure I should get with the program
