Angry Help me guys . Orange Beauty rear ended this morning .. need parts value

Hi Every one .. yes it was a bad morning..

Got up , and uncovered my 1970 3.6 RS Clone , and took my son to school .. (first ride in car this season ) , and right in front of my son school im stopped behind a school bus waiting to turn into school , and I get rear ended ! ..by the 911's worst enemy ..yes the dreaded MiniVan ... ..reason ..she didnt see me ,
I have to admit , that bright orange is a hard to see car color .. it blends in with the black pavement LOL
but anyways ,,have some damage and need what you guys think is replacement parts value for the following hard to find items .. so I can show this to insurance adjuster .. and If anyone has the stuff FS in MINT shape chime in..

These are the parts I need replacement cost on ....

RS factory duck tail

rs rear licence panel

right side factory rs touring bumper

the rest of damaged parts are readily avail , so no big deal on figuring out parts cost and labor.

Thanks to all my Porsche buddies in advance

Joe

I'l post a couple pics of the carnage tonight ..

Glad you and your son are OK.

I hope she wasn't on a cell phone. That would require a good B**ch slappin.

Good luck with the car.

That sucks! I'd say at least $10k.

Take it to three of the repair shops of your choice. When the adjuster shows give him a coopy of the highest repair estimate you have. They will try and low ball you, but if you have proof of the repair cost they cannot argue.

My orange 911 was rear-ended by a woman in a minivan talking on a cell phone. I was sitting still waiting for someone in front of me to turn left. She said she never saw me...

Anyway, I got hit pretty hard. Estimate for repairs was $6600. It sounds like your damage was basically cosmetic.

It's still a crime, though as your car is absolutely beautiful.

That so sucks Joe! I guess it's better that she hit you instead of running over a child on the way to school. How much easier to "not see" a small child than a bright orange car?

Man that s**ks!!! You seem to be taking it pretty well, I'd be way over boiling point if that hapened to me.

Anyway, get as many quotes as possible - including an official Porsche dealer's (probably a lot more expensive) - and show the highest one. Just like pbs911 says.

Then get the money first and decide who to take it to.

Joe- Glad everyone is O.K. You're right...it's only a car.
Now, about that "totalled" ducktail. Consider me an interested party, if they give you what it takes to replace it.

$3k on the tail, $1k on the touring bumper end , $250 on the center panel, $271 on the bumper guard, $305 on the lamp assy, $31 on the reflector, $40 for the pair of lics. plate lamps, $150 on the euro lens. Then... you have the crossmember and quarter panel labor, paint materials

The big question is, will it be driveable on Friday?

Let me know what beer you like.

A month or two ago, I saw one (1) RS touring bumper come up for sale on Ebay. I think MS Road & Race was the seller. My memory is pretty fuzzy, but they may have been asking as much as $1500 for the one side.

They might have some prices for your other RS parts that were mashed as well.

Hope that helps.
Sorry for the incredible hassle you are embarking upon.

You'll find that without a physical injury complaint, you're negotiating from a weak position. You're going to endure a lot of hassle to get your car fixed.
