cold start problem.
Nothing to serious it just seems to turn over for a while like it is not getting gas. I will hit the gas pedal a couple of times while turning it over, and then she eventally fires up. This all happens on the first key turn, but it seems like it turns over for ever before starting.
thanks, jeremy.

Could be a blocked fuel filter, cold start valve may not be working. Check both.

How do I check the cold start valve? Where is it located?
I beleve I have a fuel filter, so I will just replace that anyway. thanks again.

not a dirty fuel filter symptom...dirty fuel filters will still start - it isn't until you get a little ways down the road and the contaminants inside of them get stirred up that will begin to cause a warming engine to stumble and eventually die if it's dirty enough. stop for a while, the contaminant settles..then the engine will start. you think it's fine, start driving..and it dies again later. this is how you diagnose the dirty filter. change it annually if a daily driver.

Usually if the engine starts, then the cold start valve is working. Your mixture may be a little lean. It could simply be set that way, or most likely it is your WUR. There is a lot of info on this in previous posts. If you have the gauge, check your cold control pressure.

Without checking the system with a pressure gauge, it may be a problem to diagnose. Those two items I mentioned could be checked without a pressure gage.
Slow fuel delivery to the fuel injectors when the engine is cold could be a fuel filter symptom. 30 psi is required to open the injectors, and if the fuel delivery is slow it would take a little time for them to open. Cold start valve is behind the boot between the throttle body and air metering valve. It should have a electrical connector on it. If it is off, that could be a potential for a cold start problem. The surest way to figure out what's going on with the fuel delivery side is to connect the pressure gauge to the system so you could properly diagnose what the pressures are doing.
