Has anyone bought these seats?

I saw these seats at the last GAF. They are made by GTS-classics.com They seemed to look nice enough but I was unsure of the quality. I would like to get some feed back and possible pics of the seats in your car. I was going to purchase Recaro race buckets but decided to possibly purchase these and a bucket down the line for DE events. They look period correct enough for my 73 RS clone. What do you guys think? Thanks!

I have the Nurburgrings from GTS in my car. Mine are different from those, but they are first class. I would buy them again at twice the price. The quality and workmanship is great. They are the best $1100 Ive spent on my car to date.

heres a shot of the bottom of the Nurburgring

If those are made by BF Torino, I bet they will be just as nice as the Nurburghrings. Stefan is great to deal with. Give him a call, he will give you the skinny on the seats.

I've been eye-balling the Monte Carlo seats from them. I would need to see a set in person though.

However, I have plenty of other things to complete before I get new seats.

no, they wont use factory sliders. The sliders will come with the seats. You will have to make the brackets for them. Dont worry, they are cheap and easy. Heres a pic of mine .

Since they sit between the factory tracks, you will be able to drop the seat height an easy 2" closer to the floor with your own brackets. You can also and move the driver seat slightly closer to the center of the wheel.

These seats are great. I dont track my car, but for me they provide more than adequate support. Stefan uses these in his Rally car so I bet they will be fine.

I just ordered the Nurburgrings from Pelican. I don't have them yet so I can't tell you how good they are, but I've read good thing about them.

Sitting "between the factory tracks" is correct only for the early cars' set up...I believe pre 74, correct?

I post this so people with ( say) mid 80's cars and their narrower 16" span across the perches don't get the wrong idea.

Wil, I'm not sure, I'm going on memeory, but I think the '74-77 tracks are widespread like the earlier models.

I have the seats from Stefan as well. I have one of each; the Rallye ST and the Nurburgring for the passenger. I have posted pics of the seats in my car many times, I'll abstain this time.

Now, Stephan has the complete mounting kit available and is working on making it even better. Currently, there are 4 heavy 1/4" plate steel strips about 2 " wide and maybe not quite 18" long that mount with the 8 Allen head factory slider bolts. They have a welded nut for attachment of the seat belt for the cars that had the belts attached to the seats and not the body.

I am replacing these pieces (maybe 30 lbs) with aluimnum flat bar. I may not even use the sliders Stefan provided.

Actually a little less than $1100 shipped for the pair of seats, sliders, and a tilting bracket. I made my own mounting brackets for less than $40 with a drill, hardware, and angle iron that I bought from Lowes. Its easy to drop $1100 on 'upgrades' for these cars and then to feel like you didnt get your moneys worth. For me, this was money well spent.

I've dealt with ( information-only) the Euro source...Bielstein...and recall pricing that seemed to be a bit more favorable before Stefan came on-board as a State-side rep?

Anyone confirm or comment ??

Yeah, I remember the pricing being more favorable as well, but thumbs up to the guy for importing them and making them easy to buy. I emailed the "old" supplier twice years ago with no response.

Stefan now has exclusive NA rights. You can no longer buy from Bielstein. I tried to get the ST seats from Reiner and was put in contact with GTS.

I have the Nurbrugring seats and love them. I am just looking for a bit more side support for the track and would like to get the ST seats. Right now the budget does not allow. Even with the weak dollar its still cheaper to buy them from Germany - by a large margine too!

I also have the Nurburgrings, and like others have said, the fit and finish is very good (especially for the price)... and yes, the brackets could be lighter and better designed... but all in all a great buy.
