New engine case!

Hey guys, I had to tell someone....

Just took delivery of my new '84 engine case...yup, brand spanking new zero miles. Also took delivery of a brand new oil pump to match, now just mate it with my 98 or 100 mm P's and C's, a nice 74.4 mm crank (maybe a new one as well?) and the heads off my 930/03 engine....sigh...this is heaven!

Only question, why is there no serial number on the case....I guess I fill in my own?

Dennis

The replacement cases didn't have the serial number/engine type stamped on them...did you win the case on E-bay? I saw one recently.

Yep..nice buy...I was really itching to pull the trigger on it. Is something wrong with the case in the Kremer?

Kremer is in perfect condition...not a drop of oil on it anywhere. This is for my '89 project car, the one that (eventually) will get a whole lot of stuff done to it....shaved gutters, C2 air conditioning, remove sunroof, 6 speed, fancy engine (probably 3.4 litre, TEC3)....I have a tub that is perfect as a base, now with the new case....sigh...

It is REALLY nice, all those nice crisp, freshly machined edges, not a spot of oil, stain or mark anywhere...such purity, such cleanliness...such form...such shape...such perfection!

Must be something wrong with me to get excited and wax lyrically about a hunk of aluminium, but it puts me well into over-stimulation.....better hide the womenfolk!!!!

How would you like to weigh the case halves and the oil pump and post the info for posterity and religious enlightenment??

A postal scale will be accurate, same for FedEx or UPS if they know you...
