New Bilsteins, tracking and alignment

Using the car for a week I noticed that everything was not as it should be. It was farting and coughing on liftoff, some vibration from the front at speed and handling was way off.

OK, no big deal, wheel balancing, alignment and lean out the mixture I thought. In Italy I patronise a Porsche specialist called AutoOrlando, so I phoned and dropped the car off.

The coughing and farting was an easy fix as expected. The rest came from the belts tearing inside the tyre on one side, caused by a duff damper.

So I bit the bullet, new tyres and bilsteins (HD front, sport rear), tracking and alignment.

The result was incredible but then I started having some problems, my back complained about the ride (about two inches lower than euro standard, no space for fingers between tyre and bodywork) and the tyre on the driver's side was being shaved when it bounced. (no comments about my weight please) So back to Orlando for a little fine tuning. We compromised by raising to an inch below Euro ride height - a good compromise between performance and practicality.

Some after surgery shots below

These are some shots from my cell phone of some other cars in the workshop. There were lots of others that didn't come out well enough to post.
