Help ! Odometer died again
My odometer has stopped working......again. I must have sent it off to be fixed at least 3 times in the last 10 years and it's ticking me off. I know that there is a lot of stuff on this topic and the failing is due to the gear/s. However, I recall reading somewhere that there is some after-market gear (made of metal I think) which is more durable than the plastic ones currently in place. Can somebody help and let me know (i) how many teeth gear/s am I looking at ? (i) how many of them should I be purchasing ? and (iii) particulars of the vendor who sells these gears - I have a 1988 3.2 Carrera. Grateful for any feedback.

Thanks Scottb but aren't the gears sold in the website plastic ones ? I could have sworn I read somewhere that there were metal after-market ones.

good..thank you scott..i've been meaning to take care of this problem myself for a while (try three years). i wonder just how many miles my 'daily driver' may have accumulated. most of the past three years i've basically worked from home. anyone hear of a good formula for estimating your lost mileage??
