Chasing light gremlins

I'm trying to chase down the last gremlins in the 912-6. Seems my tail brake lights don't want to go out. They come on when I start the car. As far as I know, they don't change when I press the brake pedal. I checked the center of the master cylinder switch and it looked okay.

Any other switches I need to check?

we need to know more about the symptoms.
Did you do anything recent done on that car ??? Rebuilting, rewiring, etc....???
Do you have a wiring diagram ??? Are you familiar with ohm or Voltmeter ???? You said the brakes lights come on when you start the car ? Only when you start the car and never after that ?? or once the car is running ??? Can you be as specific as possible ??
Truly, Filou.

Details:

Recently upgraded to carrera brakes, change all the caliper and the master cylinder.
Lights come on when the ignition is turned to the run position.

I've got lots of wiring diagrams, car is a bastardized 912e with a 79sc motor. Haven't thouched the brake light wiring, as far as I can tell.

Unplug the M/C switch and start it up again, to see if it goes out. If so your problems are there.

Check the switch on the pedal cluster. I am going to guess that it needs to be removed/cleaned and readjusted. If it gets cummed up from crud they can stick open causing the lights to stay permanently on.

It seems to me that a 6-cyl 912 would have no problem blowing the doors off of Gremlins. They were pretty slow cars. Have the Gremlins you're chasing had engine swaps too?

And why only light Gremlins? Don't you like the dark colored ones?

Inquiring minds want to know....

Not my buddies Gremlin

Since we're talking about modified cars here...

Neighbor growing up had a Gremlin with a 401 cid, roll cage, and Mickey Tompsons....11.8 E.T. Quarter mile.

As for turning, now that another story.
