Opinions Needed on Brake Pads for '78SC

I know, how many "what kind on brake pads do I need" dumbass questions already exist on this board? Well aparently we need one more. I did a search and got nothing that directly answers my question which is:

For a SREET driven '78SC with wide tires and close to 400HP, what is my best option for brake pad replacement using the STOCK brakes that came with the car?

Don't even bother telling me I need to upgrade to bigger brakes because I don't. The stock brakes will lock up the tires at speed. You can't do any more than that. Heat is not an issue, duct work does a good job. I have a set of early 930/917 brakes in the garage that I thought I would need. Never put them on.

My pads are toast. The mountains around here eat them up fast.

I put Ferodo DS2500 pads on my '72T. A carrera owner put the same on his '88. I worked the heck out of the brakes at a DE, and never had any fade. They have better feel on the street than "OEM" pads too, and cold temps aren't an issue. If you go the Ferodo route make sure you're getting the DS2500, as most people selling this brand will just give you street pads, and not a "dual purpose" pad as these are. They're well priced, and you won't be disappointed.

Ferodo DS 2500 ( 3000, I'm told too) are V. good....

Consider Pagid Orange too, as a track-but-can-be-used-for-street pad.

Ferodo...

But having been there DT with only 280 at the wheels on a 2100# car...you ought to put he 930 brakes on. Bigger pads/rotors will actually last more than a short drive around the block. And will even feel better.

The reason you are eating pads is heat spread over a very small surface area (pads and rotor heat sink) in comparison to the 930 set up.
