911, rated top car by men, not women...

Interesting article. The 911 was rated the most desired car by men, but women could care less.

Jerry Kroeger

Thanks for the article. I am definitely a happy 911 owner and only hope to find a woman that loves my car as much as me.

Funny...

Do you really think they believe this study themselves?

Suzuki Forenza GLEXi 1600cc with power steering and radio versus the Porsche 911.........

I trust women far more than CNN!

I'm shocked to see a $104,000 Volkswagen.

The "affordable peoples car" is a little out of range for most.

Mitsubishi over a Ford GT?? yeah right!

Judging by that list it's a pretty sad day for women.

It is true that generally speaking the 911 (and Viper, Corvette, etc.) are mens cars, in that women comprise a small percentage of the buyers. However, most importantly for our purposes, women like men who drive 911's, they just don't want to own one for themselves

I'd hate to be a guy driving a G6 and read this.

Wasn't the Mini recently deemed one of the top chick cars? Gawd knows where they get or how they develop these stats.

Hey, I wonder how the Nissan Pulsar did on the chick car all-time rankings?

I used to have a boss that drove a Pulsar for a while. We busted his chops for years about driving a chick car.

Here's a fine example. This owner loved the powerful 1.8l so
much that he converted it to an electric car.

It took 20 minutes sifting through 8 pages of Google search to find a photo of a Nissan Pulsar NX. If I wanted a 911 photo, it would take about what, 3.5 seconds.

I'm going to suggest that Wayne start a new forum for NX owners.

CNN screwed it up again. They mentioned the finding of poll/study, but obscured it with worthless commentary and poor captioning. The cars listed are not either gender's favorite cars -- rather, they are the cars that are disproportionately favored by one gender or the other. The Pontiac G6 convertible may very well be number 30 on women's list.

Porsche 911 -- the most overwhelmingly male passenger car

CNNMoney Website Article by Peter Valdes-Dapena

"The Porsche 911 -- the most overwhelmingly male passenger car -- has an "Index Male to Total" of 214.3, for example. That's more than double the average. The car's "Index Female to Total," on the other hand, is just 14.3."

"It's surprising the 911 doesn't grow hair on its hood and eat Krispy Kreme for breakfast."

Full Text of the article can be found at Top cars: Men vs. Women

"Other cars at the top of the masculinity dial include the exotic Ford GT supercar, Maserati Spyder, Jaguar XK8 sports car and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution."

==============================================

Personally, I can't believe the 911 didn't score much higher!

On the other end of the scale...IMO the all-time ultimate "Girl Car" has always been a Mid to Late 80's Triple White VW Cabriolet.

edit: Sorry... I didn't see the other thread before posting.

Geepers, does that mean the men who own them are overwhelmingly masculine?

Jeepers!
I have a 911 and a triple white bunny! Should I seek counseling, or give the bunny to my daughter?

Friend, I fear there is no hope for you. I myself must confess to Boxster envy, and I don't know the first thing about styling hair. Oh the humanity. This may be the end of life as we know it.

It is hopeless. Gerard and I were both typing the word jeepers at the same time.
