my blocker at work wont let me access it, says "The Site: http://www.mts.net/~howlndog is categorized as: Web Page Hosting/Free Pages" so thats the only drawback i see...who does the state think they are not letting me get my porsche fix at work??!?!? |
Yeah its not at it home server yet |
ROFLMAO love the sound clips!!!! |
Ben, Site looks good, as far as you have gone. I recommend a page of technical details, a cross reference to fitment years exhaust systems, etc. It would be good to know what materials are using, and some features / benefits of your solution - light weight, 100% stainless, bolt on, etc.. vs other mufflers on the market. Good luck, I think you have a couple of fine products there. I assume you are working on a few more??? |
The sound clips are great. Does it cost extra to have you ride along? |
You need to get Derek to a doctor....quickly. As the 'Motor1' he sounds like early stages of Bronchitus. |
Bill it should have an explaination of the materials did you enter?? Anyhow all coments are very helpful thanks keep them coming |
Ben, There was some discussion on here a while back about different grades of stainless, etc. Also some mufflers are only stainless on the outside, as I understand it, and yours is all stainless construction, right? That's where I was going. |
 those clips are hilarious |
It looks like a great start. I think the pictures of un-mounted mufflers need to be better. They need to look special, because they are. |
I think you are going to make a bundle! Go for it! I love the web site! From where I sit, there are very few alternatives for good quality exhausts. There are several issues with the exhaust market right now: - You either pay very little (Bursch) and get a mild steel painted (=rusting) exhaust or - You pay crazy money for a Dansk, Monty or Fabspeed, which appears to have questionable quality (= weld problems, poor alignment, etc.) I enquired here in Toronto about after-market exhaust and I got just blank stares......or the suggestion that I pay someone $1500 to custom make me an exhaust out of S.Steel I think you should make sure you have coverage in Canada. Contact some parts suppliers up here once your product has matured a bit and you will have a wider market. Oh yeah, and up here if your car is over 20 years old....there is no smog test required...yeehhaaa! My 2 cents: Build two different lines of exhaust: - Off-road - build them loud and wild - Street - Sold and throaty! I and many other folks would happily spend $300-400 USD in a for a quality all S.Steel street muffler that strikes a balance between noise and performance. Keep developing and perfecting! Cheers Mike |
good point bill it needs to say all stainless not just the outside.. Thats a great point. I hope that pelican will pick up the line to help coverage in canada. fingers crossed |

I like the front page (all black)... very classy, almost intriguing looking. Nice logo too. I agree w/ above about better pics of the raw mufflers. Make the background look more like a shop floor/bench than a garage floor w/ wood scraps laying around. It's ok to show them off unfinished/unpolished, but a bigger, more detailed pic, under better lighting would be nice. People SHOULD see those welds up close. Same for the finished, mounted units. good luck! |
Like everyone else said..page looks great, more details would be a plus..these Porsche guys are crazy for facts and figures. Dyno tested? How about a bung option? And maybe a two in/one out or maybe a 2/2 convertable to 2/1 so I can replace the Dansk that I'm not in love with. |
I have detected a few grammatical errors, and will PM them to you. |
Looks good but here's what I'd like to see more detailed pics and some production shots. |
On the main page, have a image fade in then out!! give it a bit more detail on the main to make them want to see whats inside... Takes alot of reading to see the porsche in there.. Maybe put a car,or noise intro...Looks good though... Good Luck... |
Hey ben, Send me some photos and sound direct from a car( not your mouth)LOL im a mobile mechanic doing porsche and wouldnt mind promo'ing for you... Porscheworks@aol.com Talk more... |
Ben- Your page looks good. That Yellow car with the RS style muffler ROCKS.;) Christian |
MB, if you need hosting, my company is the place to go ;) We host a whole bunch of automotive sites. PM me if you have any interest. |
 930s?? Any plans for 930 mufflers ?? |
 great sound ;) |
Thanks keep them coming Derek needs all the input possible to make this really nice. I will work on better pics.. (30s will be the next project currently we offer for early 911s in 911R and 911 sport then we carry the standard side outlets single or dual for early and mid year cars and I am just finishing the single inlet mufflers that so many wanted (I have 2 down just doing final fittment on a car this weekend) Thanks keep it coming |
 any others?? |
 one more bump |
Ben, I like the concept of the product. Layout and design of the site is excelent. Only critique I might offer is that it needs a bit more content. Specifically, I think you really need to have some accurate video clips, with sound, in there. The brum brums are funny but let's face it, your product is directed to those of us that believe that sound is one of the greatest stimuli out of the 911 driving experience. Having a bit of video of those cars in the shop with static blips and then actual shot of the cars driving away form the camera is what I am talking about. This kind of content is what would make me WANT to buy your product. The workmanship on the mufflers looks fantastic. Here is a product idea for you. I'd like to have a dual outlet sport muffler that emulates the current GT3 Cup concept. Two 2" pipes, very close together, center outlet, below the factory rear valence. Can you build such a beast? Don |
Don, the brum brum's are probably place holders the web developer put in until he gets the content from MB ;) |
Website is great, its a good thing I wasn't drinking anything when I heard the sound clips.... Better product shots are a must, the one with the 3 on the floor is just not a great shot...lots of testimonials would do it for me too... Adam |
 Looks great |
Looks great so far, when are you going to do a system for the 964? |
I used to live in Wauwatosa. A buddy of mine who lived down in the Burlington area gave me these directions to find it, "Drive south until you smell it, then west until you step in it." :) Nice site. Straight forward. Some dyno results would be nice.......... |
I can't stop laughing at the sound clips. The site looks good so far though. |
the site is cool, better pictures and better vrooooooooom vroooms |
Ben, Why not sell the muffler clamps and gaskets, too? Also, why not have an ecommerce portion where you can simply buy online direct from you? I will send you some good pictures, as you can see, my car is on my lift and I won't be able to move it for a few weeks. I hope we can all say "I remember when" about M&K. Doug Wierenga |
strip out the key points and put on your home page as html - light weight - great sound etc. And... the one missing item is dyno data |
Ben, did I ever tell you that I have a DVD of my car and Phils car with your "tonned down version" at the track with some real good sound. A couple take offs at WOT both cars in a row, and some stand still video of us driving by. If you get me your address i can send a couple. I think it's about ten minutes long. tell me what you need DVD-R, DVD+R CD-R. I don't know the difference, some play in my DVD player at the TV, and some play on the computer. They'd need some more editing most likely |
You might want to add a disclaimer since the word Porsche is on the site. Otherwise it looks nice. |
another thought -- you might want to post that satisfied customers sent you the sound files... even set up an area where customers can post their comments - or have pointers to the many posts lauding your product. References are always a good thing. |
