My distributor rebuild
Ok I have been thinking about doing this for a while as my car had advance issues and it missed so this is what it looked like after I completed a good dissasembly and cleaning and replacement of shims, advance retard module,rotor,cap, green signal wire, msd igniton wire lead ( I made), And bead blasting and clear coating the housing. Took about 1 hour start to finish and I must say it was very junked up before now it runs much smoother

Thats the rebuilt one just installed this morning and timed etc. I wish the whol;e engine looked like that

that's nice Ben.
Any more pics of the "during" stage? What's the adv/retard module look like? Did you have to recurve it? My car misses and it's getting worse and worse and I think I should jump on that job pretty soon too.

Dave I left everything alone inside except for cleaning and reshimming. The springs were in tact and the bushings seemed ok. However I still have a miss that now Seams as though I have eliminated all ignition and I am going after fuel distributor. Tim handcock had a pic of them complety disassembled in his thread if you want to look at his search distributor rebuild.. As far as curving once I put it back together I check timing With and without advace and retard hooked up and followed the hayne manual specs and it fell right in there so It was fine. I would think however if you took it to a shop they could test it for you. The toughest thing about the project is to find a pin for the gear. I called pelican but it was back ordered so I went with the roll pin as most domestic cars are this way. I do however have the pin back ordered I think(paperwork did not show this from pelican) So when it comes in I will put that in..
