2.2S VS 2.7 cylinders

Is there a way to look at the cylinders and tell the difference between 2.2S and 2.7? Can the correct 2.2 heads accomodate 2.7 cylinders?

Thanks in advance,

The 2.2 has an inside diameter of 82mm, and the 2.7’s is 90mm. 2.2 heads can be used but require modification. The combination of 2.2 stroke and 2.7 bore nets 2.5 liters. I have one of these equipped with e-cams and it makes for a sweet combination in an early car.
