First to identify this part I will send it to you if you want it. Got me at first, found it in a parts car I am disassembling. Get em boys and girls.

From the apparent splined ends ... looks like part of a seat back pivot/hinge mechanism from early [pre-74] non sport seat.

warren is correct! it is the rear seat crossbar- splined on both ends to engage the recliner mechanism

Warren is correct, dam* I thought I had a real stumper there. You guys/gals are good. Warren if you want it let me know. When I first looked at it -laying under the hood of a recent parts car I recently got, with a bunch of other misc parts- I couldn't figure it out. I'll have to be more selective with the guess this part #3. Hope everybody has a good day/week/month/etc. J R
