Center consoles on early SC's?
Does anyone know if early US SC's ever came without center consoles? I have one on my '78 and it's listed as a no-cost option. An original dealer book I have lists the console as an option but I've never seen an early US spec. SC without one.

I believe the console came with the AC option. That's where the AC switchgear is after all. My car came without fogs, pw or a passenger side mirror so it was a low spec car. It did (emphasis on did) have AC and a sunroof though...and mine had a console.

I think standard was equipped w/ AC, PW,RH mirror. The option was a delete option to NOT have AC, or the rest. That's what I was told by the guy that didn't have a console.
