Owners Manual Weirdness
I just noticed this in my owner's manual. For installing the targa top, look what steps 4 and 5 say and the direction the arrows are going in to lock the top shut. This is backwards. I never read this part of the 87 manual before because years ago I was shown how to do this and I've done it on my car countless times.
btw, my roof has never flown off or even threatened to. It seems easy to tell when it's locked down or not. Wasup wid dat? Seems like a dangerous thing for the factory to tell new owners this, no? Am I hallucinating? Did the factory ever recall these manuals?

So were there any cars built when these directions were correct?
