Dont be alarmed with the white van!!!

I was on my way back from a long days drive. Saw a early S.C on the opposite side of the way i was going. The driver kinda seen me looking, but he was frustraded. Drove back around(took like 10min) and pulled over, guy jumped in his car and locked the doors..Hmm. he was sort of freaked out when i walked up to his window... WOW, who pulls up, CHP!!!! hands on the gun, unclipped in the holster WTF!!! as the CHP walks by the van, he glances at the logos Mobile Works. First thing he says is " hey Jimmy" i scratch my head and say HUH!! Turns out He owns a 930 and see's me posted on pelican.. Guy looks over and see's us BS ing, so he gets out of his car.....
CHP leaves, so me and the guy with the porsche start to talk. He's been there for 2 hours and AAA hasnt showed up yet... YOU DAMN RELAYS MAKE ME SICK!!!!! turns out his relay burnt out, had a spare on the van, got it running and Dave was on the road back to Reno........... Did my deed for the day" NO CHARGE!!!"

Thanks Sgt.

They’re everywhere, they’re everywhere. Pelicans that is.

Nice rescue. What was the CHP’s screen name?

Best,
Grady

As Mr. Disney said, "It's a small world after all! The "white van" title threw me. There is the infamous white van that sells junk speakers that are talked about on audio forums. Glad to see this white van is passing out good deeds instead. WTG!

This raises the question, how do you approach a Porsche driver? Sometimes I'll ask a 911 driver if they're a Pelican. Some are, most aren't. I ran up to a 930 driver not far from my house the other day to mention I had a 930 and to say you don't see many around the neighborhood (OK you see one, mine). He looked at me like I was crazy. When I asked him if he did his own repairs, I got another you must be crazy look. Am I crazy?

i help as much as i can to those that are stranded. Did the same to a lady that pulled off the road to take a piss in the bushes, and starter failed. Bad luck aint it.. Cute too, why a bush when there was a gas station on the other side of the over pass... Push start, and away she goes!!!

Thanks for the hug Shelly

I heard a story about an old lady that got a flat in the rain and a motorcyclist stopped to change her tire. He said he had his rain gear on so the rain was no problem. She said she always thought of motorcyclists as gang types but now saw them different. I always try to help old ladies and hot young ones too when they have car trouble.

As a side note, we lost a Pelican a couple weeks ago when he was struck by lightening riding his R1100S (it's on the R1100S forum). Be careful out there and don't ride in thunderstorms.

Woman need help sometimes. I hear to much about guys helping out as a good deed, then girls kidnapped... with a van with logos all over it, they know its a buisness....
With loosing pelican's, lets you know any time can be your last...
Be careful, and drive safe!!!

That's funny - but I agree - I have helped some people out - and usually their first response is what do you want?

I have talked to quite a few people with Porsche's too - usually the are a little taken aback -

As far as the maintenance goes - I had a an older gentleman come into my garage at my house and thank me for doing my own work on my car. I was like WTF? he says that he doesn't see that much anymore and he thought it was important for people to know how things work and to know your car better.

Oh - and good job Jimmy...

Very sad. Was R1100S his ID?

Also, I think a member by the name of David is a CHP.
