Angry Have you been screwed by Motor Meister?

I have most definitely been screwed by Motor Meister, (to the tune of around 14k and the engine is still a P.O.S.) and now I would like everyone who has had the same or similar experience to email me with the details. I'm compiling a data base of this hypocrisy so we can get the word out about these guys. I will try every thing I can to assure that no more poor souls have to deal with this business. I will periodically post this thread to encourage all in this situation to rally with me, so please get the word out! You can email me at screwedbymm@hotmail.com.
Cheers

Do a search of the forum; you'll find the topic of MM has been discussed before.

Most everyone that's been here a little while already knows. Do a search here for a bunch of bad news.

Hmmm, I wonder if a class action lawsuit is in order. Just a thought....

Class action suits would be gud for people that have been hosed by MM....I and others were fortunate enuff to hear the stories before dealing with them. Unfortunately, the BAR let's them continue to screw people.

If you check the BAR website, BAR does not allow access to complaints that are closed, settled or otherwise. Last time I checked the record was clean.

$14,000!! Wow!! It's amazing nobody has taken a hit out on these guys yet.

Can you give us a few more details on what happened? (I'll understand if you don't want to talk about it....)

"get the word out about these guys"

- The thing to do is not just get the word out, but to either take action with your own attorney, or to get the state involved. You will want to contact the Attorney General's office to be sure it gets attention. The BAR cannot close its files to the AG. And even a private suit may be able to get access.

Screwed: The key to any successful lawsuit against MM will be to get an expert to testify about their lousy work. Not just any expert, but someone with impeccable credentials like John Walker. He's out of state, and is less likely to be perceived as a competitor with an ax to grind. The expert's opinion will have to include a teardown of the MM engine so he can document all the bad things MM did. Tom Amon up in the Bay Area might be another good person for the job.

I called the Calif Consumer affairs department about a company that did wheel repairs (they kept my wheels for 6 months with no repairs). After they got the complaint I got my wheels fixed. Maybe let the State of Calif work for you.

Naturally, we are going to hear about the complaints - are there any satisfied MM customers here?

"are there any satisfied MM customers here?"

I feel I must be a very distinct minority. They did my race engine a very long time ago, and it's still kicking! They did what they said they would do, when they said they would, for the cost agreed upon. Their after sale responses have been exceptional (no problems with the engine; providing a FREE lightened clutch/pressure plate when I burned the first one at Watkin's Glen). I don't know, but I don't think I'm the only person to get good service from them. . .

I also would like to hear the details. Having a user name and email name like that is somewhat risky, IMHO.

I have been accused of slander here on this board after showing pics of merchandise that was not what it was supposed to be. At least I had physical evidence of my beef with the seller. This is an empty accusation.

So, what are the details? Either speak up and articulate or have this thread deleted. Pelican doesn't need the liability.

Disclaimer: I have never done business with MM and never even visited the location.

I have never done any business wih them either. I will agree completely with Zeke on this...your username and email have bogus written all over them. You may be the dry cleaners next door, for example, and have an axe to grind because you don't like their cars parked in front of the store. Tell us the specifics before stirring up the lynch mob.

I had a pair of Webers overhauled by them and they did a great job.

I've researched them and found a very low complaint rate, so it's valuable to hear from actual customers who've had problems, as oppossed to knowing somebody whose cousin had a friend who had a problem with them.

They do a ton of 911 overhauls -- probably 20 a month on average for the past 6-8 years. I don't think the complaint rate is very high. But the rumor rate sure is.

Likewise, three years ago. No complaints.
