refurbishing tools from toolkit
I'd like to spruce up the tools in my toolkit (1983 SC).
I've searched the forum, but have come up empty. I'm looking for ideas and experience on how to get the surface rust off, and get some kind of finish back on that will inhibit future rust, and look half-way decent. I am not looking to restore the tools to concours condition, just good-looking functionality. I am guessing the beadblasting/sandblasting, or an acid bath might clean the oxidation off. Ideas? Is there a particular spray paint that would recover them decently, or do I need to have them plated? Plating sounds expensive. Thanks for any ideas.

take 'em to a plater -- just photocopy first so they don't lose one. the charge is often about $35 minimum - and you can do all of 'em for that
