Is a 912 the same as a 993TT?

I know that to non-Porsche people, all of them are assumed to be pricey exotics, but this is silly.

I bought a black 912E a while ago so my wife can say she has a porsche of her own.

I was to meet my mother-in-law at the local Starbucks to pick up my daughter, who spent the day at grandma's house. When I got there, there was a beautiful black on black 993 twin turbo parked at the curb. When Grandma and daughter showed up, they saw my pick-up in the parking lot, and the 993, and couldn't figure out what I drove. They've both seen plenty of the 912, but couldn't distinguish it from a wide-body with tail and aero kit?

Kinda like getting gas and a $65,000 Land Cruiser pulling up to the next pump, the driver assuming I'm the rich guy because I drive a $6500 used car.

Well they are both Porsches so there is a "same"-ness in actuality. You and the lay person is just comparing the two ends of the evolutionary scale for these models.
