Ignition Rotor question

How much if any should the brass tab stick out on a new rotor. Mine is flush with the plastic housing.
Trying to nail down my no spark issue after receiving my freshly rebuilt distributor from our host. This was a new rotor that I had installed while troubleshooting the original problem...excessive play on distributor shaft. So it did have some run time on it.
Would like to hear from someone or maybe a pic of a new rotor someone has laying around.

Thanks
