Determing build date from VIN no.???
How would you determine a build date from a VIN no.?
From memory, the Porsche model years run from around Sep to Aug. Thus, a 1973 "Model" car could have actually been built/delivered in late 72. Anyone have this information? It is relevant for classing a race car based on "year of manufacture"

If you have a plate on the latch post of the driver's door, you might find a build date there.
