Question GT2 -- at the wheel HP in stock form?

Anyone have or know of dyno charts from a GT2 in stock form?

I talked to a guy up here who has one. All it had done to it was an exhuast systemand he said it put down about 520 to the wheels on a dynojet FWIW. I have heard they do put more to the wheels than they were rated for at the flywheel. I know it doesn't answer your question, but I though it was interesting none the less

Similar to the GT3 which regularly puts out 350 in stock form and about 365 'chipped'.

Was curious because my 2650 lb 418 RWHP 930 ran right with a very well driven GT2 on Michelin Sport Cups at the last track event.

GT2 = 20% more HP, 20% more weight.

Any other dyno results people have heard of?

the GT-2 is a hotrodded turbo engine, the GT-3 is a hotrodded N/A engine. Apples to oranges.

I watched the video of the GT-2 on the dyno runs. he had changed the exhaust and done some very minor tuning, they had the dynojet set for 500 RWHP and the darned thing boiled the water in it.
Conservatively that would put him close to 575 crank HP.

Uh, Sammy I was alluding to the fact that Porsche waaay underrates the high HP engines.

Pat, I'm learning the car more & more at each DE event.
They take some skill to extract the most out of them, but it sure helps that I've been driving 911s at the track for about 7 years.

I cannot imagine a more stable and fun 'older' 911!

SAmmy:
What's a dynojet? Is that a brake absorption machine like the old Stuska units? Boiled the water out of it is the best one I've heard in a long time.

Ah, found one:

454 at the wheels, stock hp, on a dynojet.

Rated at 456 or 477 depending on the year.

Wow. Dats a lot of ponies.

Oops, sorry for the misunderstanding Craig. Sometimes my eyes read faster than my brain.

The dynojet is a dyno machine that uses water to absorb the energy.
Pressures and flows determine the HP. Some folks have reported that they read higher than other types of dynos, and sometimes higher than other dynojets. No personal experience with that. I just enjoyed watching and listening to the video.

On a 2 mile, 2 minute hill (with a top end around 80+) that is worth a around 2.5 sec on a 280 rwhp 2300# car.....stock '05 GT2 on street tires.

It would be a big difference at Pacific Raceways.

Craig I know just about zip about a GT2 outside this experience. At Bogus this year a 2005 GT2 with a a driver also new to the hill was only 2.660 seconds faster than the 3.6. We were #1 and #2 on street tires and we both won our respective classes. A vairo ram would have made up much of that since we were both running standard gears.

Bogus is 2 miles, in close to 2 minutes and change (2.03.854 for the GT2) to be competitive and only 2.660 seconds faster with the same trap speed of 79mph.

You already know the difference you'd see at Pacific Raceways.

Gotcha. Your car is going to be amazingly fast at the track......Randy Blaylock has a 1973 with 3.6 Vario with solid lifter hot cams at about 2,200 lbs, and he turns equal laps to my 930.

Of course, a ton of semi-professional racing and track experience helps ;-)

When are you going to a track event?

July 22nd - Friday - BMW club - Portland Intnl'
July 25th - Monday - Corvair Club - Portland Intnl'
July 27 - Wednesday - Speedware - Pacific Raceways
July 29 - Friday - NW Alfa club - Pacific Raceways
-----------------------------------
August 4 - Thursday - PR, PCA/PNWR - shows Kiwanis club day same day, reg due by Aug 4th - Pacific Raceways

August 18 - Monday - NW Alfa Club - Pacific Raceways

August 26th - Friday - PCNW Club - Pacific Raceways - reg closes Aug 19th

Craig, I have similar motor mods as your 930. I have a k27 turbo, I think yours is tricked. How the hell do you get over 400 at the wheel. I am still CIS also. Damn, your car is very light. I dyno only 360 at the wheels. Talked to most guys around here, they all say 350-360 is max for that set up. OK man, would you spill the beans. What's the secert? Glad to hear that you are kicking A$$ with the GT2 and keeping up.

Jeff
