Pat yourselves on the Back
I thought I would take a moment to praise this board and this community. You guys have been more then helpful to me and all of my 78sc questions which is why I always try to make time to offer up the little knowledge that I have when I can. The Bennett Project continues to floor me and you should all be proud of that. One of the things that I think slips under the radar is just how useful the information is that posted here. I've been having some issues with the other german car in our garage, 98 A4 and have been seeking information on an intermittiant no start problem on the Audiworld board. Geez, what a bunch of posers and bolt on yahoo's. Questions are routine asked and almost never answered in any form that would be helpful. One visit there will have you hitting the bottle. I guess I've been spoiled by what Wayne has provided for us and the way the community here follows thru with posts and lets us all know how problems have been resolved. So from me to you, thanks and please keep up the good work!

This place IS great and a tremendously valuable source of information. It is also the evil that leads me to buying things I don't actually NEED, only WANT ![]() PP Rocks! -Chris

Porsche has always attracted those with a technical bent...

It seems that Audi has way over engineered that car. Have you replaced the rear brake pads on yours? You need some special tool to twist and push the brake piston back into the car. The fronts push in easy peasy but the rears, why oh why add that challenge??? Hell Wayne should get into selling all the special tools you need to work on those things. The only place you can go to get anything done is the dealer. oh well I am getting your thread off topic. The guys here are awesome. I sure hope some day I know enough that I can return the favor.

Man, I hear you loud and clear. The people on this board are a very tight knit group, always willing to go out of their way to offer help and expertise. I would never have attempted a complete suspension rebuild without everyone's encouragement and help. So may other questions have been asked and answered that I can't even begin to count them all.
Kudos to everyone on this board.

There is no way I would be as happy with my 911 if it wasnt for this board....
From fixes to upgrades to outright hacks, this place is the best..... I have been able to make my 911 just about perfect (almost finished) for me. I would never have even thought of doing half of what I have done with out the pelicaner's posts..... Of course my wife cringes every time she sees me on this site. She knows it's going to cost more money (and time) when some post here gives me another new idea for an upgrade..... Thanks to all who post and those who take the time to help others....... Chris

I agree. This board rocks. When I was deciding to take the 911 plunge it was lurking on this board that conviced me I could actually own my dream car without paying $100 an hour to maintain it. I learned to not fear the flat six. And with all your help I'm a very happy owner. And the "get a PPI" and "don't buy with your heart" chants were most valuable in helping me avoid buying a basket case. Thanks to all for the technical info and thanks also for many laughs.

I hear ya! I have an A4 also and have tried to get info from Audiworld. Most of those folks are more concerned with body kits, xenon lights, and M3 lips whatever that is. Luckly my Audi has been pretty reliable so far, probably because I'm always tinkering with it, so I haven't needed much help over there.
I have never been able to find another car forum that is as technical as this one. And when you ask a stupid question (I've never done that!), you don't get immediately shot down and made fun of. BTW, you don't need that special tool to do the back brakes on an A4 (or any VW/Audi for that matter since they all use that rear brake caliper design). I just use a c-clamp and twist the piston with large pliers while I screw in the c-clamp.
