Driver Side Door Lock Stuck

Anyone have a hint on how I can get my door lock unjammed? It's stuck in the lock position. Currently my window is stuck in the down position but should have that problem fixed tonight. I'm thinking that with the window up I can possibly flip the latch up by the door key. The turning the door key does not engage the lock-unlock Assembly. Inside lock-unlock dial jammed too.

I never tried to remove the door panel with the door closed. I don't even know if it can be done while sitting here indoors?

good luck and please return with your solution if nobody jumps in with info.

Lock Assembly

The door opens and closes fortunately. The door panels are off but the locking Assembly is stuck in the lock (lock lever full up) position and will not budge. I'll tackle it again when I get home tonight.

I guess I'd disconnect the linkage at the lock if I didn't see anything causing the prob. I do know that the auto lock motor to lock is a weak area that tends to break. Maybe it broke and fell into a jam. I had to remove the door frame and glass to install power locks. Not a big deal to remove. It did become a "while you're in there" situation leading to new frame glass sliders, etc.

Hi,

I just jammed the door lock on my SC two days ago. I did this by locking it when the door wasn't completely closed.

Trying to unlock the door with the key didn't work and nor did it release by turning the lock/unlock dial inside.

I ended up popping the little cover off the dial with my finger nail then when turning the screw with a phillips to remove the dial, the lock released. I may have forced it though as when I removed the dial (and the round plastic cup it sits in) I could see that a little plastic sleeve had fallen off of the end of the lock's vertical rod, where it inserts into a hole in the lock mechanism. I guess it dropped behind the door panel. Now looking to find another plastic sleeve (didn't see it on Pelican yet).

Good luck.

I did this, too. I have RS loops as openers, so I yanked the crap out of them and it came loose. I think brute force is the answer here.

man, i gave some guy a link to my old post where i fixed the problem. he ended up messing up his window frame. i felt bad. you gotta get that lock mechanism off and then you move this circlip to put more tension on this spring. it isnt hard. but getting the part out is a puzzle.

All Better Now

Well, I found a bolt jammed my lock. Getting the bolt out was a real $%#$%@@@. Anyway. Locks are working perfect.
