Spyder sighting, 101 Fwy.

I saw a Spyder that looked like the real deal heading East on the 101 in the Glendale area. It had red primer spots on it's silver.
I was in a truck and he was moving right along in the fast lane so it didn't last long enough. It had early License plates that I think had the yellow background ? I did hear it's motor, and it didn't sound like a regular 4 banger.

Anybody know the car ?

Bob,

The guy next door have one just like the one you saw. that location is about 10 min from my house. I know he only take the car out on the weekends. Sometimes on Friday nights. He has Arizonia plates on it. I know he painted and old blue CA plate's backround black and it is sitting on his garage wall. Don't worry, is not the real thing. He gave my Miata a run for the money in the local hills once. Blew me away in the straight. With my 930, he was sucking gas fume all day long.

When do we get out on any drive near 1000oaks? Nobody is doing them anymore. Is it because of the CHP.

Jeff.

Thought I saw one near New Buffalo Mich the other day. How do you spot a fake? We walked around this one and the thing that stood out was the tubular frame that was visible just by looking at the interior. I have never seen one alive and really didn't know what to look for. It was awesome nonetheless.

If only our ever dutiful Homeland Security were as diligent as the LA (and Denver) car watchers….

I tried to sneak my 904 from one garage to another about 4 AM and about five people saw it. This wasn’t anything as blatant as cruising down the 101.

Best,
Grady

Sound's like it must have been your neighbor.
It was just past Brand on the Fwy were I saw the Spyder.
It had one of those air spoiler humps ? (for lack of the correct term ) behind the driver.

So It's a fake ?

Randy,

It’s “Arapa…, Arapa…, Arapa….” to 10K+ drum beat sometimes. This is where the action i$ and lots of cool cars not seen on the 101 or 5. Perhaps after the first big seismic event Andial, TRE and others will set up shop here – I’m retired.

When I had the 904 out that time (about ’70) no one knew what a rapper was other than a chain tensioner.

Best,
Grady

The popn growth and politics are both heavily influenced by SoCal in-migration (also true of Oregon) -- I won't even mention the much reviled Texans (and their summer trailers).

There will be plenty of other - umh shall we say California culture - soon enough. If you don't believe, just talk to the cops... they always pick up on this stuff first (or are forced to encounter it first).

I don't know what part of the county you live in, but whether it's near Little Town or Horrororah... same eventual result.

If you've live there since the 70's then you seen huge, huge changes.

Bob, what day was this? I know he went to the big car show on Brand Blvd in Glendale with that little thing.
