Compression Test results.

Jimmy from MobileWrks came over last Saturday to perform a compression test on my 83 911. Test results show the following:
#1 = 165
#2 = 164
#3 = 165
#4 = 164
#5 = 165
#6 = 164

Just to compare to other SC's, can you show me what your compression readings were on your car? What is the ideal result? My friends 1980 SC measured at around 123-128.

WOW Carl,

Those are as close as can be! I don't know what they SHOULD read, but I do know that having them so close is a good thing.

Unless your whole engine is falling apart at exactly the same rate

Looks great!

My numbers on my 85 RoW came in 4 months ago between 190 and 200. However my compression is higher in the RoW and that might make the difference. Not sure. Little variation is good, as cbeers said.

Doug,

Stuck plug? For how long? It has to come out sometime right?

Also, I see you have a thumper in your stable. Do you ride often? Where?

You can PM or email so we don't highjack Carl's thread

I think there is much variation in the individual gauges in individual shops so it's the variation between each cyclinder that is critical. Given your figures are within 1 point of each other it reads perfectly!

On that note mine are all between 145 and 150. Comments?
