More Fuel Tank Refurbishment Questions
I syphoned out the 7+ gallons of gas and removed my gas tank this past weekend. I was surprsied just how easy the process was. I noted the internal baffle was metal (similar to a aircraft wing member) and that the rear lines for the fuel hoses were not screw in fittings, but welded in metal tubing. That rubberized WURTH coating is brutal and has to be ground off which has been a pain in the butt.
Once the tank is boiled out here at a local radiator repair shop and possible coated internally (Red Coat) I am going to spray the outside with a high zinc primer. I do not have an air compressor therefore I cannot use the Wurth SKS coating. It just does not pay to buy all that stuff for the tank. Can anyone recommend a spray on or brush on coating that will provide an OEM appearance, is tough and readily available? Thanks Bob 73.5T |

Can you tell me what color it is and what texture it leaves. Did it apply evenly? Thanks Bob |
