Oxygen sensor connection/connector craked
 

Found out today that the orange connector is cracked on the O2 sensor side. The oxygen sensor itself is still connected but the end of the connector is a bit flimsy. The green wire side looks fine. Can I wrap up the bad end with electrical tape? Or should I try to repair it? Does anyone have a step by step repair instruction? Would this crack cause the O2 sensor relay to begin clicking. I've had this happen lately. Thanks for any and all info.

I'd disconnect the thing and have someone set your CO to 2.75% - 3.5%.

It will get rid of that cruise surging you probably have.

I'd like not to worry about it but I'm going to be needing it to pass smog over here in CA. Thanks:) In the event that I need to replace the sensor I would like to have an idea of how to handle the bad connector. My understanding is that it's part of the wiring harness and can't ordered as a seperate part. Really looking for a fix for this. Thanks for the idea anyway.

If your talking about the plastic connector mounted onto the body of the car, mine was cracked. I cut the wire put a spade connector on and did the same with the wire on the O2 side. Funny thing is I keep it disconnected:)

By the way, do you remember the type (size/guage) of spade connections that you used? Thanks.

12~18 gage I think. It's what I had at the time.
