Looks odd that all the load moves through the big bar (which looks stable and probably hollow) but then it has to be applied to that thin plate which is also bent slightly (so there is some bending moment) and therefore more prone to deflection. In my opinion it just doesn't look solid. Did a mech eng do a static analysis on this? If so, what methods were used? What material is the plate?

Did you do any finite element analysis calcs on this?

Sorry for the sarcasm. Perhaps this question is better directed toward the manufacturer instead of a customer.

I'll put Chuck on the spot since his company sells this line (perhaps not this bar though).

I suspect that steel bracket is more than mild, but that's just a wishful guess.
