Scott: If they are WW or Bran I'll have some. But I am afraid they'll be white flour, lard and sugar.
Back to the real topic of a fun drive, please.
Let's all try to be ready at 7:59 AM, with a full tank, good spirits, and enjoy the nice curves on #20 before the Ross Dam.
Those who need it will kindly take a Valium and continue debate on a seperate Walky-Talky-channel. :(
In Switzerland, the trains are on time and, like any civilized country, the temperature is given in Celsius (Centigrade for some) so, it'll be around 30 deg. That means hot and if anyone cares for a swim, there is a beautiful spot in Pateros (Methow River) where you can jump off the boat landing by the Chevron station.
Anyone who needs cooling off can join me in a short swim. ;)

It sounds like a weekend full of Porsche-activities and I am looking forward to meeting all of you. SmileWavy

Just thought I'd offer some hot and tired Porsche driver's ice cream after dinner in Wenatchee. If any one is interested I'll be there ice cream in hand.

My wife and I have been planning this event for quite some time now. We have had the RSVP list in hand for over 2 weeks, and quite a bit of time and effort has gone into making sure our guests are comfortable and have a great time with this "event".

It's our first time on such an endeavor, and it took a lot of convincing to get the wife to "agree", and still insists that I "owe her big time"....(such is life;) )

So, for this year, we would like to keep it at the level of attendees that we have right now...to drop an increased attendance in my wife's lap at this time would "guarantee" that this event wouldn't happen again.

We hope that this is something that we can do every year, and with the first year safely under our belt, we hope that we can extend an invitation to more of our Porsche friends. I have already told my wife that I would like this to be a yearly event, and she said that the only way it will happen is if she gets "help" next year (clearly my efforts are not considered "help" :D ).

We would like this to be a mini Gary Emory Campout type of event, and will be happy to extend invitations next year to others once we have this one "happily" completed. I'm sure you guys' with wives that have hosted "friends" know what I mean...

I'm sure some of the guys showing up may want to meet you in Wenatchee after dinner....that's their decision.

Thanks, and I hope you guys have a GREAT drive!, and no breakdowns!

regards,
Eric

Excellent... I'm in. If anyone's met me, you'll know that I'm ALWAYS up for ice cream. ;)

In the words of Bill Cosby:

"I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream."

jeffgrant 08-10-2005 05:30 PM

Eric-

Have fun with your BBQ... don't worry about "not inviting me"... I wouldn't expect you to. Owning the same make of car only goes so far, if you know what I mean, and I think it would have been presumptious to assume that I was invited in the first place.

No need to feel aplogetic, IMO.

Eric's (and his wife's) salmon party. Glad he jumped in. Thanks for the effort on both parts.

Cool, I know a few guys want to see the other cars. I'll bring more ice cream than all of us can eat. Bob is nice enough to look for a place to park and eat desert for Saturday.

Anyone have a special flavor they can't live without let me know.

Looks to be a great weekend for everyone!

Randy W 08-10-2005 05:59 PM

Thanks for posting Eric. I cannot think of a more gracious host.

I will not be joining you guys in Wenatchee - have enough on my plate, so to speak.

My goal is for everyone to have a good time. I hope you guys do too. :)

That's not a Baby Ruth in the punch bowl.....http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/munky2.gif

Right then.
Here's where we'll meet in Cashmere:
Coming from leavenworth, hang a right at the stoplight and go over the little bridge, and take the 1st left on Pleasant St.
There's a Good Ol' Boys BBQ joint on the corner- seriously, there is.
Go down the little street, and you get to the Riverfront Park, go around that little building and there's all kinds of parking.
As pictured, and it should be GREAT.
NOW, do we need to start a poll for Ice Cream Flavors?!
See ya!

Wow, this thread is sure confusing....

I would love to come for the event, and I'm sure to be one of the farther travellers, my plight is I just got back from holidays, and probably drove about 2000+ Kms, so how do I convince my wife now I want to take off drive solid for three days with a bunch of other Porsche nuts I've never met?

I'm sorry, I just can't afford any expensive jewelry right now ;)

I hope it will be a awesome event with no "issues" on both the car and personel levels, but I must wait until next year, and I guess it's Canada's turn again....hmmm, Banff, Jasper, Calgary.... :)

rdane 08-10-2005 08:17 PM

Cool Bob, thanks for the foot work today! I'm up early for a look see on Liberty Bell tomorrow if anyone wants to recon some of the route . See ya Saturday night. I'm a rocky road fan myself with some rainbow sherbet on the side.

alf 08-10-2005 08:17 PM

Y'all have a good time, i will be driving our family SUV to Oregon, Nevada and California to go rock hounding with the kids and then to a Japanese sword show in SF for me to spend lots of money :)

Take lots of pics and i particularly want to see a pic of Island and Dane shaking hands with Scooter standing in the middle, ala Clinton, Arafat and Sharon (or was that Benjamin N). :)

Hey RDANE if it's too hot for ya..why don't you bring the Audi

tabs 08-11-2005 02:40 AM

And Randy maybe U could give some of the R Gruppe Boyz a hint on the kinda tools they'll be needin on the run to keep from breakin down....but I just think they should find out where every Porsche mechanic is located on the run, cause they will probably be visitin them all....

OK Alf, thems fightin' words. Back of the gym after school. You not there, I'm comin' to find you. Oh, give me your lunch money too.

Um, I take it back, um, keep your money...as a matter of fact, take mine. Um, nice Japanese sword you got there. ;)

Too bad you can't join us Alf. Enjoy your 16+ hour drive each way with the wife and three kids in the back of an air conditioned SUV.

But seriously, maybe we can get the Roach out on our next drive?

Geez, Alf, that IS harsh. ;)

The petty issue here is Dane once had this event planning responsibility . .. but then dropped it in favor of some of his other events. (a one car ill climb, Sioux Falls .. ) e wants to blame it on other people as being irresponsible, but ... here he is now that the drive is back on, throwing around personal insults, and (not so) veiled threats . . .AND Treats! (so we're all cool, now)

.. . "want some ice cream?" . .listen for the music . .and come a run'n.

I'd like a LARGE ORANGE DRINK......

Drago 08-11-2005 08:27 AM

For the record, I'm the one that decided to cancel the Round-Up earlier this year...for a variety of reasons.

If your must know the reasons you can PM me...I'm not going to air them here.

Oh, and I agree with Jeff. We're all looking like idiots.

Gunter 08-11-2005 08:54 AM

Good point, Drago-Marc (or Mark?):
Does that mean you won't have any ice cream, Glenn?

What does it all matter when we boogie down on #20 with the sunroof open and the fuzzbuster on high alert?
There are so many real problems in the world that this squabble has as much importance as a rolling fart on a curtain rod.
I probably will have a Heineken instead of ice cream after a hot day and I'll bring one for Dane and Glenn. SmileWavy

Drago-Man: Since you are about 6'6", can you step in as the peace maker, but also crack the whip on the we-are leaving-at-eight-at the latest-rule? ;)
