-- SCWDP Can-Am RoundUp 2005 is ON --

Coming up fast. .. August 13-14 2005

Yes, that's right . . .It is ON! http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif (it has actually been On for a while now, for those who the super-secret SCWDP decoder-ring. ;)

Some of you may have been mislead, back on April 1st (fools day) by rdane, that the event had been cancelled.

Well all we have to say is; MUHA -HA -HA . . .HA! :D(Certainly the SCWDP is not going to let some rgrupperhttp://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...ool_shades.gif spoil our annual event . . .though, rumors of a Black Audi Wagon maybe true.)

Anyway . . .It's the Americans turn to host, this year and the two day event is ON!

Quite a few SCWDP-operatives have been working deep deep undercover to ensure we have a great route, and a great crowd.

The event will one again be centered around great new roads, for some great photo-ops, of some great cars & people. . . .as was our last hosting of the event

Okay then. . . so now the rest of you know when.

...As to where I will just say (for now) it will start within 35 miles of the Canadian boarder, in the NW corner of the state of Washington.

--stay tuned for more details.

Drago 08-04-2005 10:39 AM

What?

Scooter 08-04-2005 10:45 AM

Yes, Mr. Drago.....it's on baby! :)

And I will fit in with my car too, because I am in the process of backdating it to an SC.

arcsine 08-04-2005 10:54 AM

A week and a day ain't much time to plan for this so it will not happen for me. But if you are going to be in the NW corner of Washington, about 35 miles from the border, that is pretty close to me. Maybe there will be a chance to hook up with some of the folks.

Drago 08-04-2005 10:57 AM

Start location at Gary's place!

arcsine 08-04-2005 11:03 AM

Works for me.

DaveE 08-04-2005 11:21 AM

Damn! I'm on the wrong coast again.........

alf 08-04-2005 11:34 AM

Mel planned a camping trip that weekend, will have to talk her into working this in instead. Got a good raffle going?

Will there be a waiver? :)

A attorney and a engineer.....easy pickings, waiver or not ;)
At least they'll both have their names spelled right on the waiver so you'll know who to sue.

Sounds like a fun trip. Good work.

There was this attorney and an engineer from Nantucket....

Drago 08-04-2005 05:29 PM

Well, honestly the only part that would have been funny was the attorney part :)

I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that Scooters waiver is at least an inch thick. ;)

Gunter 08-04-2005 07:22 PM

Please, give us the actual route soon so we can meditate on it. :p
Just a reminder: Make sure that your carroza is in working order, especially the brakes! :(
Don't follow too close to someone with a fuzzbuster in case the music starts.
Watch out for the "Pack mentality". Drive carefully within your limits and take your medication.
If it's really hot, should we opt for beer tasting instead of wine?
After the run, of course. :D

Question: Do all two-way radios have the same channels? If I buy a Motorola, is it working with the same channels as any other ones?

Scooter 08-04-2005 07:52 PM

Bring your magnifying glasses for the waiver language. ;)

Beer/wine/cola, whatever the group decides. The purpose is to have a social aspect as well as the driving aspect.

Sounds like we will have a good turnout!

nostatic 08-04-2005 08:22 PM

maybe i should ride my bike up for it....

oh yeah, then I had a moment of clarity :p

Well, we didn't want to go announce our exact route quite yet  but we will be touring some of the Washington State Dams. These super-secret destination locations will make this Round-Up the Best Dam round-up ever.

So here they are . . the super-secret destination locations

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123257702.jpg

So is it clear now?

Oh, and the turbo guys . . prepare to feel inferior, on this tour de turbine. MUHHAHAhahahaa....

we'll see a few real turbine rotors on the tour (pic from a scouting drive)

ronin 08-05-2005 08:16 AM

oh, and btw: the reason why the Jamiester is holding his hand before his face is not because of the nonexistent glaring sunlight in that pic, but because of the 60-mile-an-hour winds that were still raging when that pic was taken. what a scouting drive!

Okay, this will start Saturday morning . .. the Canadians and Americans will converge at, or around Sedro Woolley.

The Day one route will look like this: (subject to change, to confuse the guilty)
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123260378.jpg

This will allow those who want to head home an easy route back. Those who want to join-up for day two, an easy stay, or an easy drive over. (School is out, so lots of places to sleep in Ellensburg . . . some with Black Audi's in the lots )

Scooter has the route and details for day 2.

Drago 08-05-2005 09:19 AM

Looks like a long day one. Don't be surprised if a few of us turn off at Chelan and take Hwy 2. back to the west side.

just an FYI; The program says that route would take 8hr 46 min's (with average driving speeds)

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123264163.gif

the route back to Seattle, thru I90 is shorter.

rdane 08-05-2005 09:52 AM

Lovely place to spend the night. Pity the fool who does this one with no AC. It will be 90+ on most of that drive once you get past Winthrop.
