Jerry,
The line is only sold as an assembled part, but all of the early lines prior to '73 models used those aluminum fittings that can be disassembled so the hose can be replaced! An early DIY-friendly concept from the 'original' design concept of the 911 that was abandoned when the bean counters in Stuttgart began their reign in 1971: "Must have lower cost parts, SCHNELL!!!" ... Your hose section is USA-made, industrial Aeroquip hose that has replaced the OEM piece. It looks quite similar to the German OEM hose that Stoddards sells, but the Stoddard hose [OEM German] isn't marked '3/4' the way USA hoses are ...

Jerry,
That is the really nice aluminum pipe-hose assembly for a ’69 (901.107.720.01.) It goes from the case below #3 cylinder to the oil tank. It will fit a ’65-’69 but not a ’70-’71. It is the same T, E, and S. With different threads or adaptor on the hose end it can be made to fit some ’73 and later. The two parts screw together (at red arrow). The piece of hose is replaceable IF you find OEM hose. You could find an aluminum metric fitting and weld it onto the pipe and then use some standard Porsche hose assembly. guys;
NICE WORK!!! ...as usual it appears as though the hose section has already been replaced once w/ 3/4". Stoddard lists some bulk hose; SIC-276-160-0 Bulk oil hose. Small oil lines (1966-1971), nominal I.D. 18mm. SIC-284-200-0 Bulk oil hose. Large oil lines nominal I.D. 22mm. ...or can take this to my local "House of Hose" and have the flex section replaced ? (yellow pages under "hydraulics" ?) same concept for the other (suction) hose as well ? my baby is on the way to becoming leak free. thanks again! best jerry |

Jerry,
Yes, your local hydraulic supply should have some hose made by Aeroquip or Goodrich that will work just fine. They can find a close fit to the 18 mm hose in the catalogs, and I have used a cloth-covered Aeroquip hose that looks just like yours to fab an emergency-spare bypass hose to carry in the trunk to replace the lines to the thermostat and front cooler on my car in case of leaks/damage to cooler ... it is to restore connection to oil tank from scavenge line. Of course, mine had to be AN-16 hose.

guys;
is it my imagination or is this the same pipe as used on the early Sportomatics? my '67 parts manual lists 901.107.720.00 and the drawing shows what appears to be the same unit with an extra mounting tab. TIA jerry
